Two months after being brought to India from South Africa, a second cheetah died at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh after falling ill on Sunday morning. Six-year-old Uday was one of the 12 cheetahs brought into the country in February. A press release from the forest department said that during the daily check-up, Uday appeared lethargic and was limping. They were sedated and given first aid at 11 am, after which they were taken out of the large enclosure. Uday died hours later at 4 pm.
