A helicopter carrying former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa had to stop its landing for some time due to plastic sheets and other garbage on the ground in Kalaburagi.
The helicopter later landed at the same helipad at Jewargi in Kalaburagi after the ground was cleared by security personnel.
Some videos of this incident have gone viral on social media.
A video showed the pilot aborting the landing at the last minute as plastic sheets flew close to the helicopter causing panic.
The chopper kept hovering in the air while the helipad was cleared by the officials.
Kalaburagi Superintendent of Police Isha Pant said the chopper later landed safely at the same spot.
The veteran BJP leader is in Kalaburagi to participate in the party’s ‘Jan Sankalp Yatra’.
