A day after the apex court expressed displeasure over the delay in appointments, the Center cleared the names of five judges in the Supreme Court. This comes amid a long-standing tussle between the executive and the judiciary over the process of appointments. President Draupadi Murmu has approved the elevation of five judges to the Supreme Court. “As per the provisions under the Constitution of India, the Hon’ble President of India has appointed the following Chief Justices and Judges of High Courts as Judges of the Supreme Court.
