video | Hemant Soren first Jharkhand chief minister to visit former Maoist hotbed

Hemant Soren on Friday became the first Jharkhand chief minister to visit ‘Budha Pahar’ near the Chhattisgarh border – once a Maoist bastion that was liberated by security forces after more than three decades, officials said. Mr. Soren reached the top of the hill in the afternoon, where the CRPF has now set up its camp. He demanded more funds from the Center and appealed to the remaining Maoists to give up violence.
