Video of woman dancing to Bollywood song inside Delhi Metro divides internet

Even though the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued repeated warnings to prohibit video recording inside train coaches, there are clips of many passengers still flouting the rules. This time, a video of a woman dancing to a Bollywood song inside a busy Delhi Metro coach has become a talking point among social media users.

In the video, the woman, dressed in a black transparent top and blue jeans, is seen dancing vigorously on Neha Bhasin and Bappi Lahiri’s song. ‘Assalam-e-Ishkum’, The woman seen in the short clip has been identified as Priya Sharma and the video has been shared on her official Instagram handle.

The video has now gone viral and is garnering mixed reactions. While some loved her dance and appreciated her confidence, others tagged DMCR’s official Instagram account and urged them to take appropriate action to address such behaviour.

One user wrote, “Nice try, but please don’t do it again.” “This needs to stop,” said another.

A third user commented, “Nothing wrong with that..she is doing what she sees in movies..if any leading lady of Bollywood does or portrays like this then it won’t be a problem.” .but when it translates into your society there is a reaction…hypocrisy at its best”.

“Super cool – why do some people object to everything? Chill guys,” added a fourth.

It may be noted that earlier this year, the DMRC had asked commuters not to shoot videos inside Delhi Metro trains with the popular meme template. ,Travel in metro is not a problem (Travel in Metro, don’t make trouble),” it said in Hindi.

DMRC posted a meme showing different types of headache and their causes. Graphic showing how migraines, high blood pressure and stress affect different parts of the head. The last one showed a man with a headache all over and the reason given was, “When you see someone dancing on the subway.”
