The Election Commission has asked Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge to clarify a tweet alleging a remark on sovereignty made by his predecessor Sonia Gandhi during an address in Karnataka. The poll body’s order comes after complaints from the BJP that any comment on sovereignty for the state amounts to a suggestion of secession.
