The government on Monday said it “has nothing to hide”, but told the Supreme Court, citing national security reasons, that it filed a detailed affidavit in response to several petitions seeking a formal investigation into the Pegasus spyware scandal. Won’t do Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court, “Statements on this issue cannot be made by way of affidavit… (and) it is not possible to file and then make it (part of public discourse)”.
