Patna:

Repeatedly reminding him of his promise of providing 10 lakh jobs if voted to power in the 2020 Bihar elections, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday posted a clip of him answering the question with a shot at the BJP.

“It is a success that instead of Hindu-Muslim subjects, you are asking us about employment. I thank you, people who were sleeping and never asked about jobs, media has also woken up now. Isn’t it a success?” They said.

“The BJP never fulfills its promise. We will fulfill our promises. And the question that you are asking casually that ‘when will you give 10 lakhs’, hasn’t the Chief Minister spoken about it in front of you today?” Mr Yadav said.

But ask them (BJP) what happened to 2 crore? [jobs that PM Narendra Modi promised each year in 2014], And they were in power for almost two years, did the BJP even give 19 out of the 19 lakh jobs they had promised? ” He added.

When asked about Mr. Yadav’s promise of 10 lakh jobs, the chief minister had said on Friday, “We will certainly try to fulfill that promise to the best of our ability.”

The new coalition of Mr Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) and Mr Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) took over the government in Bihar this week, when the 71-year-old chief minister quit the BJP for the second time in nine years.

Apart from the topic of jobs, Nitish Kumar has raised cheeky questions about his frequent switching sides – first leaving the BJP in 2013 for a partnership with the Congress and the RJD, then switching back to the BJP in 2017 and now a and U-turn.

Sources said the new government is expected to announce the list of its ministers on Tuesday.
