A chaotic scene was witnessed at the Delhi Civic Center late in the evening during the election of six members of the Standing Committee, considered the most powerful body in the Unified Municipal Corporation of Delhi. In an unprecedented situation, the election took place close to midnight. Visuals from the scene showed councilors shouting, pushing and punching as others doused them with bottled water.
