Students and members of various NGOs participate in the program organized by SAFE

An NGO called Step Ahead for Equality (SAFE) along with students and youth organized a 2K walk for the safety of women here on Friday.

In a walk organized from Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium to PB Siddhartha College, NTR District Collector S. Delhi Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Gunni and other officials participated.

Mr. Vishal flagged off the walk in the stadium. Students from various colleges, faculty members and students of NGOs participated in it.

Speaking on the occasion, the DCP said that the police is at the forefront of women safety and asked girls to download Disha app and help prevent crime against women.

“Gender discrimination is haunting women in the society. It is the responsibility of every citizen to prevent crime against women. Awareness should be created among the students in this regard,” said Mr. Vishal.
