Viral Video: 97-Year-Old NYC Restaurant Serves Traditional Cola Float

Every city has its own heritage of restaurants and diners who served in the traditional way in the olden days but later adapted to the modern times. For example, in New York, the concept of the soda fountain was extremely popular in almost all restaurants. The video was shared by @newyorknico on Instagram, where it has garnered over 8 million views and 277k likes. The blogger wrote in the caption, “Lexington Candy Shop Upper East Side 97 Years Old Luncheonette Still Making Their Coke Old Fashioned.”

In the viral video, we can see a short clip from the Lexington Candy Shop—an establishment that’s been on the corner of Lexington Avenue and 83rd Street since 1925. This is an authentic NYC luncheon serving authentic Americana. rentWhich reminds locals of a bygone era when soda fountains were a common feature in every restaurant.

First, the man took a tall glass and added cola syrup to it. Then, he filled it with soda water from another tap. Next, the blogger got a scoop of ice cream on top of the served drink!
