Viral video: Disneyland employee interrupts marriage proposal

This isn’t the first time Disneyland Paris has been criticized online.

A video becoming popular on social media shows a Disneyland employee interrupting a man’s proposal. Footage shows the man getting down on one knee against the backdrop of one of the park’s iconic palaces at Disneyland in Paris. As he opens the ring box, a worker runs to the platform the couple is standing on and snatches it. He then descends from the elevated platform and tells the couple to descend, with both the man and the woman looking incredibly confused.

The video has been shared online by countless users, with many criticizing the employee’s rude and rude behavior. One user @LarryPotterxxx wrote, “So @DisneyParis_EN condemns employees for being extremely condescending to guests? Is it in the manual that employees beat up guests and snatch engagement rings from people’s hands? Absolutely Crazy #DisneyProposal #DisneylandParis.”

A Disney spokesperson told newsweek, “We are sorry for how this was handled. We have apologized to the couple involved and have offered to correct it.”

This isn’t the first time Disneyland Paris has been criticized online. The theme park was forced to apologize to a mother in 2021 after two members of its security staff ordered her to stop breastfeeding her baby in public.

While Disneyland initially struck an unappealing tone, saying only that mothers had access to special rooms with “appropriate and comfortable materials such as special breastfeeding seats”, this prompted a rebuke on Twitter by French citizenship minister Marlene Schiappa. After that changed his tune. Who was the first Gender Equality Minister.

“Dear @DisneylandParis, Breastfeeding a baby is not a crime. It’s nice that you have dedicated rooms but no one knows when and where baby will be hungry,” she wrote.
