Viral Video: Leopard hunts monkey, internet shocked

A leopard can be seen climbing a tree and leaping to catch another monkey.

It is exciting to see wild animals hunting their prey. This rare sight was seen in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna Tiger Reserve, where a leopard is seen hunting a baby monkey. The video of the hunt has been posted on Twitter by Panna Tiger Reserve and is now going viral.

In the footage, a leopard can be seen climbing a tree and leaping to catch another monkey. Although the big cat catches the monkey in its mouth, it falls from a great height. But it does not seem to have any effect on the leopard, which seems to be sitting comfortably after its beating.

The accompanying tweet read, “A rare sight @pannatigerreserve. A leopard can be seen hunting a monkey cub by jumping on a tree.”

Since being shared on June 28, the video has collected over 5,000 views and 198 likes. Twitter users are both worried and horrified by the footage.

“The brute force of nature,” wrote one user, while another added, “a rare sight indeed.”

Panna Reserve is home to many animals including tigers, sloth bears, Indian wolves, pangolins, leopards, alligators and Indian foxes. Additionally, it is home to about 200 different bird species, such as Indian vultures, red-headed vultures, bloom-headed parrots, crested honey buzzards, and bar-headed geese.

In May this year, another video went viral showing a man being attacked by a leopard while he was photographing the wild animal. The incident took place near Kharjan tea garden in Dibrugarh, Assam.

According to a local resident, the man suffered only injuries on his leg as the leopard attacked him while he was taking a close-up picture.
