The face-off between the lion and the deer is likely to end in favor of the wild king. But sometimes that’s not likely to happen, like in the case of this viral video where a sable antelope escaped from a lioness attack.

A video shared on Instagram by a handle called “The Dark Side of Nature” shows a sable antelope using its curved horns to ward off a lioness attack. “The best offense is a good defence. A sable antelope uses its curved horns to drive a lion off its back,” the post’s caption read.

The clip showed a lioness pouncing on an antelope, which was drinking water from a small pond. A few seconds later, the antelope, to defend itself, used its curved horns to dislodge the wild cat from its back. After this the lioness jumped into the pond in an attempt to save herself.
