A man from Punjab realized this the hard way when he was filmed buying cheap ration in his luxury car. In the viral video, a man reaches a ration depot in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur and picks up bags of wheat, pulses and rice, which he kept in the trunk of his car and carried it. The entire episode was captured by a viewer and posted on Twitter and in no time the video went viral.
The subsidized ration available in these depots is for the below poverty line (BPL) category people who do not have enough money to get their ration. essential groceries from regular stores. Here food is given to the underprivileged at INR 2 per kg.
As per reports, Amit Kumar, who runs the ration depot shown in the video, clarified that the person had a BPL card, and followed the guidelines to check the card and gave away the ration.

The video attracted some angry and some funny comments on the internet:
“Not only in Punjab but all over India people are availing free ration where they are earning much more than BPL person.”
“The government should start home delivery of rations to prevent ration theft (theft).”

During this, reports It has come to the fore that the man is explaining that it was his relative’s car. “They don’t live in India, and park the car at our place. It’s a diesel car, so we start it in a few days and do a few rounds,” he said.
