A scuba diver is seen near a coral reef in the sea. He films the cleaner shrimp entering his open mouth. The tiny crustacean picks up bits of food from the diver’s teeth and cleans its gums with its feet.

The shrimp went inside the man’s mouth as well but he stood patiently, allowing the animal to do its job.

At the end of the 59-second video, the shrimp leaves the diver and heads back to the coral reef.

Social media users were stunned to see the shrimp going inside the diver’s mouth. “Crantist,” said one of the users on Twitter.

“Be like shrimp, sir you are not flossing daily,” said another.

“No thanks, I’ll settle for this super cool thing called a toothbrush,” commented a third user.

Shrimp is one of the most widely found species in the water. According to Encyclopdia Britannica, their close relatives include crabs, crayfish and lobsters.

They are flattened towards a semi-transparent body and a flexible abdomen ending in a fan-like tail. The appendages are modified for swimming, and the antennae are long and whip-like.

Shrimp occurs in all oceans – in shallow and deep water – and in freshwater lakes and rivers. Many species are commercially important as food.

Shrimp ranges from a few millimeters to 20 centimeters (about 8 in) in length; The average size is about 4 to 8 cm (1.5 to 3 in). Large individuals are often called prawns.
