Viral Video: This huge paratha from Nagpur engulfs the internet

The year 2021 has been very exciting for food lovers. Over the years, we have seen people experimenting with different types of dishes. While some dishes were hits, others remained quirky in origin. Then there are viral videos featuring food items that are huge and indulgent. Remember Delhi’s wonderful momos? We found another such video that created a flutter on the internet. It belongs to a street vendor in Nagpur, who is selling huge parathas with halwa on the side. What caught our attention is his cooking skills! In this video uploaded by Nagpur-based food bloggers Vivek and Ayesha (on their Instagram handle ‘etographers’) a man is rolling the dough by hand and stretching it to make it paper-thin. Then he makes some holes on the paratha (with fingers) to make air pockets which will prevent it from breaking. Then he keeps the paratha in oil to deep fry for about a minute or two and then take it out in a plate with a ladle. The best part is that he does it all within minutes, that too without any harm.

Priced at Rs 40 per 250 grams, this paratha is making a lot of noise on social media. Allegedly, it paratha It is made from 700 grams of flour to which 100 grams of dalda and salt are mixed.

The Instagram reel has got around 50k views so far. It also received several comments – some praising the shopkeeper’s cooking skills, some questioning the issue of cleanliness. Some people were also confused whether it is a paratha or not. Poor,
