India’s star couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were seen on the streets of Mumbai during a scooter ride. Usually, the couple prefers their exotic cars to travel, which includes a garage full of luxury and exotic vehicles. However, the couple took some time off from their busy work schedule and were spotted on a Suzuki Access 125. However, apart from the duo, the highlight of the ride was the helmet with dark visors. The couple followed full road safety rules and raised the bars for fellow actors.

This was probably the first time that the star couple rode a scooty following all the road safety rules, as they wore a helmet while riding. Indian cricketer Virat Kohli can be seen riding a two-wheeler with actress wife Anushka Sharma. Stars generally avoid helmets for showbiz. Netizens have lauded the couple for taking necessary precautions and spreading the message about road safety.

A few months back Varun Dhawan was spotted on the streets of Kanpur riding a Royal Enfield without a helmet and was fined by the Kanpur Police. Dhawan was shooting for his upcoming film ‘Bawal’ when he was caught by the Kanpur traffic police. Apart from this, actors like Kartik Aaryan and Kunal Khemu have also been seen riding a bike without a helmet.
India’s road safety record
India is the worst in terms of road safety as road accidents are increasing continuously. Road accidents are one of the leading causes of death of people all over the world in general and India in particular. At least one in 10 people killed on the streets across the world is from India. According to ‘Road Accidents in India 2020’, there were 3,66,138 unfortunate incidents of road accidents during 2020, in which 1,31,714 people lost their lives and 3,48,279 people were injured.
Recently, Delhi Traffic Police has started a social media campaign for road safety, where they are posting strange posts related to road safety as a precaution.
