Michael Vaughan urged Virat Kohli to forget what has happened in the last 10 years and forget his superstar status and enjoy hitting the ball again.

Virat Kohli is going through the leanest phase of his famous career. After relinquishing the captaincy in all formats of the game, Kohli was expected to perform with the bat for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022. However, the star batsman has struggled to bag 3 golden ducks in the ongoing season. ,

Kohli has been able to score only 216 runs in 12 matches at an average of 19.64. The former RCB captain will be in action later on Friday, May 13, when the former finalists take on Punjab Kings in a crucial IPL 2022 match at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

“I hope Faf du Plessis has spoken to him and told him – ‘Go back 10 years when you didn’t have this profile. You’re not married and you don’t have any kids. You’re going to the ball. And have some fun,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

He said, “Forget your age, forget what you have done.”

he’s going to be dangerous

Kohli has only one half-century to show in IPL 2022 as the star batsman has been dismissed in the powerplay, more often than not. In an unprecedented turn of events, Kohli has struggled to go, finding ways to get out when the opposition is dealing with the new ball.

Vaughan said that Kohli needs to go beyond 30-35 to find his old self again and that the former captain could be dangerous if he manages to get off to a good start in the rest of the season.

“If he turns 35, I think he can grow up. It’s just the initial 0-10 he’s battling. If he can get away and show a little bit of that youthfulness, he’s going to be dangerous,” Vaughan said.

Fourth-placed RCB with 14 points from 12 matches will need to win their next two matches to make it to the playoffs for the third year in a row.
