Visakhapatnam: TDP will continue protest against ‘unauthorized’ construction in Rushikonda, says ex-MLA

Former MLA and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Gandi Babaji criticized the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) for trying to stop TDP leaders from organizing protests over alleged violation of environmental norms in Rushikonda. He also found fault with the statement of IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath who had favored setting up of a camp office for the Chief Minister at Rushikonda.

Addressing a press conference, Mr. Babji said that the state government with the help of police has made preventive arrests 24 hours before the scheduled protests, which is completely undemocratic. The police went to the house of the leaders and took them into custody late in the night and sent them to the police station. He said that if the government does something wrong then anyone in the country can protest. He said the party would continue its protest against the government over the violation in Rushikonda.
