Volkswagen Taigun, Tiguan prices hiked: How much do they cost now – Times of India

Volkswagen has announced a price hike of 2.5% to 4% (depending on the version) on its taigun and the Tiguan SUV. The new prices are effective from 2 May 2022. Additionally, the brand has also recently introduced new features for the Volkswagen Taigun SUV. Now the mid-size SUV gets an idle start/stop function and a tire pressure monitoring system as standard across all variants.
The price hike is around Rs 40,000 to Rs 60,000 depending on the variant. Volkswagen says the price hike is a result of rising input costs and material costs. Now Volkswagen Taigun price ranges between Rs 11.39 Lakh to Rs 18.59 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The company claims that the 1.0-litre Taigun manual variant now offers a fuel efficiency of 19.20 kpl, while the Taigun automatic variant offers 17.23 kmpl.

The brand joins the list of other car makers that have announced price hikes in their range. Semiconductor shortages and rising input costs could impact vehicle demand and car sales figures as well.
