The Vertus is the second product manufactured under Volkswagen’s India 2.0 project which will be launched in India on 9 June 2022. The brand says that this initiative will take the brand one step closer towards completing the Bharat 2.0 project.
Volkswagen says that through the pan-India preview, customers will get an opportunity to experience the Vertus in the region before it is launched in the market. The Volkswagen Vertus can be pre-booked at 152 Volkswagen dealerships in India and through the official website of the brand.

The Volkswagen Vertus sedan is built on the MQB A0 IN platform with up to 95% localization. According to the brand, the flexibility of the platform enabled the new sedan to become the longest car in the segment (4,561 mm) with plenty of cabin and boot space (521 litres).
On the interiors, the Vertus comes equipped with a host of technology and connectivity features like an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, keyless entry and engine start system. And an electric sunroof. Other notable interior features include Smart-Touch Climatronic AC, 8-speaker sound system, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, MyVolkswagen Connect app and many more.
In terms of safety, the new Vertus sedan gets 40+ features including 6 airbags, a reverse camera, electronic stability control (ESC), multi-collision brakes, hill-hold control, seamlessly integrated LED headlamps with LED DRLs, ISOFIX . among others.
At heart, the sedan is offered with a 1.5-litre TST EVO engine with Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) and a 1.0-litre TSI engine. The former is paired with a 7-speed DSG as standard, while the latter can be mated to a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter AT.
In terms of exterior colours, the new Volkswagen Vertus is offered in Wild Cherry Red, Curcuma Yellow, Carbon Steel Grey, Rising Blue, Candy White and Reflex Silver paint schemes.
