Wallopay partners with Visa to issue its own cards in the APAC region

Y Combinator-backed corporate card and payments management company Volopay has partnered with Visa’s FinTech Fast Track program to provide financial management solutions. The firm said the fast track program will allow Volopay to issue its own Visa cards to its customer businesses in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The partnership program was established by Visa to support innovative financial services and solutions.

Volopay is a Singapore-based company that combines business accounts, corporate cards, bill payments, expense reimbursement, credit, cashback and accounting automation into a single platform. After launching in Singapore and Australia, the start-up is now foraying into India, Indonesia and the Philippines. Volopay hopes this partnership will put it ahead of its competitors and provide it with visibility and networking opportunities that are difficult for start-ups to achieve in their early stages.

“Partnership with Visa’s FinTech Fast Track program gives us an edge we didn’t have before. The ability to issue our own cards sets us apart from other fintech providers who are simply distributing cards. In this way, we Will have complete control over the product being delivered to the customers,” said Rajith Shaji, CEO and Co-Founder, Volopay.

According to Rohit Bhageria, founding member of Volopay, having their own card will help them build a round financial stack to offer their customers. According to the press release, Volopay is one of the few companies in the APAC region to have the ability to issue its own corporate cards, making their offering a one-of-a-kind opportunity for Singaporean and Australian businesses.
