South Cyber Crime Police is on the lookout for a man who allegedly created a fake Facebook account in the name of offering to buy old currency and coins in the name of the Managing Director of a renowned property development company.
According to the complaint filed by a representative of Prestige Group, the accused used a photograph of the company’s MD, Rezwan Razak, who recently opened the Museum of Indian Paper Money, a currency museum at the Prestige Falcon Towers on Brunton Road. The unidentified accused allegedly claimed that the museum was offering to buy old currency and coins.
“Neither the company nor the museum has made any such offer,” said the police, which is tracking the accused on the basis of his IP address. “We suspect that the accused is trying to deceive people,” said a police officer.
