Bengaluru-based theater group Dramaarsis will stage an English play. Ending, Directed by Shekhar Sanyal, a working professional who has taken up theater as a passion. He has played roles as a technical designer and actor for the stage. Ending This is his first directorial drama.
The play will be staged on April 9 at 3 pm and 6.30 pm at Jagriti Theatre, Whitefield. The play, written by Navonil Bhattacharya, explores the harsh truth, says Shekhar. “It focuses on various social norms and challenges, including gender roles and what happens when the masks are removed. The play relies on humor and creates a light-hearted watch”.

The play was supposed to be staged in 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic, Shekhar says. “Although we were done with rehearsal, we had to back it up as the cast changed and some fell seriously ill. We are thrilled to finally be back on stage.”
The 51-year-old director says, “The drama will give you a different experience. Though it is called endings, it sends the message that there is no finality to what is happening around us.
