The Instagram video uploaded by Peanut App, a page that frequently re-shares child-related content, was originally shared by the baby’s mother, @kelsey___ward. The baby girl in the video is named Scarlett and what makes her popsicle tasting experience even more magical is that the baby is suffering from delayed gastric emptying (gastroparesis) and GERD. These diseases mean that the baby’s stomach cannot empty itself of food in the normal way and has to be fed through a tube. Although there may be a small amount of liquid or puree coming out of his mouth, he is still 100% dependent on his tube for nutrition. This means that baby is usually not given food by mouth and this just makes his first popsicle experience all the more special.
