Watch: Brave dog looks down on mountain lion trying to break into owner’s house

Dogs are known to be man’s best friends and this clip of a pet dog bravely confronting a mountain lion to save its owners proves why they really deserve the title Huh. Despite the fear of his life, the dog did not stop fighting with the wild cat. However, the big twist in the story is that the dog and the lion did not actually engage in an encounter as they were separated by a glass door. But that doesn’t deter the pet dog’s courage and things could go awry. The video of the unusual confrontation was shared on Facebook by dog owner Sarah Boley on December 2. Sara found her dog stalking a mountain lion while roaming outside their house. The lion was initially at some distance from the glass door but soon after seeing the dog inside it started coming closer. Seeing the lion coming towards him, the dog staggered and stood his ground bravely.

Sarah who was recording the incident was also heard calling the dog ‘Dash’, but the pet did not move. After a confrontation of about two-and-a-half minutes, the lion retreated and dashed off the lawn barking loudly. Sara later posted a video of the traumatic incident on her Facebook page where it garnered over 1.22 lakh views.

The video was also shared on YouTube, where it garnered over 2.5 lakh views with several comments from users.

One user praised Dash’s bravery, writing, “Well done, Dash!! Such a nice dog, keeping the house safe.” Another comment read, “Dash was in safety mode, probably scared to death but he was going to protect his mom by all means. Dogs are like that.”

However, some users reported that the dog was probably not aware of the animal it was up against. One user wrote in his response, “Dash apparently had never come into contact with a predatory animal before and was completely unaware that this “strange looking animal” could do him a lot of harm.

What do you think of Dash’s brave face?
