WATCH: British envoy roasts Manchester United fan over temple visit

Alex Ellis posted a video of his hilarious reaction with the fan

New Delhi:

British humor was on display at the ISKCON temple in Delhi on Friday in an amusing conversation between Britain’s High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis and a Manchester United fan who was praying for divine intervention for the struggling football team.

Mr Ellis posted a video of his reaction with the fan, who was wearing a ManUTD T-shirt. He tweeted, “Found (understandably) looking for divine intervention from a Manuyuti fan at ISKCON (Delhi) temple.”

The unidentified youth told the British High Commissioner that he had come to pray in the hope that Lord Krishna would help Manchester United win the match. To this Alice replied, “You will need more (help) than this.”

In the video, the British High Commissioner can be heard saying that it is important to have faith in a culture. “To believe that Manchester United is going to win requires an act of faith,” Mr Ellis jokingly laughed at Manchester United as the game went on.

After a poor season under Ralph Rangnick last year, ManUtd fans were expecting a new tide this season under new manager Eric Ten Haag.

But two consecutive defeats against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford have left the club at the bottom of the English Premier League (EPL) table.

After a poor showing over the past few seasons, one of the greatest teams in the history of the EPL is now the subject of severe criticism and brutal memes.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted a few days ago that he was planning to buy Manu but later said he was just joking.

Manchester United is one of the most popular teams in the world, having won a record number of domestic and European trophies. But after the ouster of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, the club struggled to win the Premier League title.
