A video of a Canadian woman speaking Punjabi has created a flutter on the internet. Sarah Wickett, a pop country singer and songwriter based in Toronto, shared the short clip on Instagram with the caption, “I tried my best”.
In the video, Ms. Wicket is seen trying to speak in Punjabi. She revealed that while she is from Toronto, her boyfriend is from Delhi.
“Main Toronto toh, my boyfriend Delhi toh hai. But my boyfriend is Toronto v ton. Asin toronto wich rehde yes (I am from Toronto; my boyfriend is from Delhi. But my boyfriend is also from Toronto. We live in Toronto) ,” she said in Punjabi.

In another video, Ms. Wicket was heard saying a few lines about herself in Punjabi. “Seven Mr. Akal. My name is Sara. I’m Toronto Ton. Mainu Gauna Pasand Hai. Te Main Singer Ya (Hello. My name is Sara. I’m from Toronto. I love to sing. And I’m a singer)” she Said in the clip.
Meanwhile, earlier a video of a foreigner selling tea while speaking fluent Hindi had also surfaced online. In the clip, the woman was seen walking with four glasses of tea in her hands and saying, “Chai, chai garam chai. Memsaab garam chai? Special garam chai banaya hai humne aapko liye (tea, hot tea.) Ma’am, two) You want some hot tea? I made this special hot tea for you).”
The video has garnered over 495,000 views and over 50,000 likes.
