While we buy some of our favorite sweets and snacks from our favorite shops in the city, there are other dishes that we love to make at home. During this time of the year, you will find people making barfi, laddu, namkeen etc. in abundance. Keeping this in mind, we bring you a popular snack recipe that will make Diwali a delicious affair. It is known as Verki Puri.

Verki Poori is basically a fried, flaky snack which looks and tastes like Maharashtrian Chirote. The only difference is that Chirota has a sweet taste, while Verki Poori has a salty taste. This recipe has been shared by food vlogger Ananya Banerjee on her YouTube channel (named Ananya Banerjee). So, without delaying much, let’s get to the recipe.

How to make Verki Poori | Verki Complete Recipe:

  • Put all purpose flour, cumin, salt and ghee in a bowl.
  • Mix everything together.
  • Slowly add water and knead soft dough. Keep aside.
  • Now take some corn flour and ghee in a bowl and mix it.
  • Roll out the dough and spread the corn flour mixture on it.
  • Now make the Lachha (Parantha) like a dough and cut it into small pieces.
  • Take small pieces, roll and deep fry.

And yummy verki puri is ready to eat.
