In foreign countries, it is very common for travelers to embark on culinary adventures in order to taste some of the local cuisine. That’s exactly what one internet influencer did during his recent trip to Thailand. User Sam Pepper shared a video of him trying the “Live Jumping Shrimp Salad” on Instagram.

Freshwater prawns are mixed with seasonings, roasted peppers, cilantro, fresh chutney and onions to create a quirky delicacy. Lemon juice is also squeezed all over the top just before the container is lidded and served.

In the clip, the internet influencer is seen trying the strangest dish. “It’s really there. But when in Thailand! Live Shrimp Salad!” he wrote in the caption of the post.

A third user commented, “Another reason to add to the list of reasons why not to visit Thailand,” while a fourth said, “We do not support this for doing such a cruel thing”. “I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you don’t need to try everything,” expressed a fifth.
