India’s star cricketers Jemimah Rodrigues and Harleen Deol got a chance to groove to popular singer AP Dhillon ahead of the first match of the Women’s Premier League on Saturday, March 4. League also on Saturday at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai with Shankar Mahadevan, Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon. Jemimah is known for her singing skills. He is also an excellent guitar player. The cricketer and the singer froze for a while and it turned out to be a great watch.

The first match of the tournament will be played between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians. Jemimah is a part of the Delhi Capitals team while Harleen is a part of the Giants team. There are five teams participating in the WPL – Mumbai Indians, DC, RCB, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriors. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain MI against the Giants, who are being led by Australia’s Beth Mooney. The other two Australians to captain a side in this WPL. They are Alyssa Healy (UP Warriors captain) and Meg Lanning (DC captain).

Rodrigues was bought by DC for Rs 2.2 crore in the WPL auction held in February. He has also been named the vice-captain of the Delhi Capitals franchise. Rodrigues is a good T20 batsman. After being dropped from the ODI World Cup squad in 2022, he worked hard on his game and scored runs in domestic cricket. Since then he has played many good innings for India.

Rodrigues was also in good touch in the recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 semi-final match vs Australia, but a poor shot fell and India eventually lost the match. He has so far appeared in 80 T20Is, scoring 1704 runs at an average of 29.89 and a strike rate of 114.20.
