A heart-wrenching video of a monkey being cremated in Rajasthan’s Alwar has left the internet emotional. The monkey had died due to injuries sustained by a strong electric shock. The locals took out a funeral procession for the 5-month-old animal and cremated it as per Hindu customs. According to APN Live, a day after the funeral, a bhandara was also organized in memory of the animal. A video of a monkey’s funeral procession is now going viral on the internet. A vehicle is visible in the video in which the locals took the animal for its cremation. Locals also hired a band to play musical instruments during the procession as a tribute to the animal.

Reacting to the clip, animal lovers prayed for the monkey’s soul and also applauded the villagers.
Jasir Singh, a local resident of Alwar claimed that he found the monkey lying under a tree without any movement. The animal was accidentally electrocuted by an electric wire. Seeing the condition of the animal, the lion quickly came to its rescue.
He started looking for a vet clinic in the nearby areas. However, with no vet clinic in the vicinity, they had to wait for a few hours before the monkey could get some medical help. The local people brought the monkey back home after treatment but his condition did not show any signs of improvement. The situation worsened overnight and the monkey died on Saturday morning.
The local people decided to give a good farewell to the animal and organized a funeral for him. Giving the reason for the funeral of the monkey, Singh said that the Hindu community in Alwar has deep faith in the monkeys. He is considered a symbol of God just like Lord Hanuman. Therefore, the people of the village suggested that they need to give a respectable last visit to the animal.
