IMD warning for low pressure area over South Andaman Sea
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued precautionary measures after a low pressure area formed over South Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal. According to IMD, the weather system is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by the evening of May 8.
The system is expected to reach Andhra Pradesh-Odisha coasts early next week, and the east coast states may receive heavy rains.
