Lionel Messi intervened in a touching gesture on Sunday when guards were carrying a young fan who was trying to approach him. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner also took a selfie with the boy.
The episode happened after his recent match for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in Tel Aviv, Israel, when Messi was walking down the stadium tunnel. The young supporter ran to him but was stopped by the security guards. As they tried to take him away, Messi intervened.
The boy dropped his phone in an uproar, but held onto Messi’s shoulder to take a selfie. They both hug before being taken away again by the guards.
Through this act of compassion, the Argentine superstar gave the young fan a moment he will never forget.
