Ajit Ninan surprised his longtime girlfriend with a Valentine’s Day proposal.
Meteorologist Mary Lee couldn’t control her tears when her boyfriend went down on one knee in a surprise Valentine’s Day proposal. CBS San Francisco Bay Area meteorologist was taping a segment about the Northern Lights when her longtime boyfriend Ajit Ninan surprised her with an on-camera proposal, footage that has gone viral on the show online .
according to this CBS San Francisco, Mary Lee was taping at KPIX 5 studio when her boyfriend’s daughters Miriam and Maddie arrived on set carrying roses. Ms. Lee initially thought it was a surprise family trip – until her boyfriend got down on one knee and produced a ring.
“Mary, you are my Northern Lights. You are brilliant and beautiful,” he said. “Girls love you and I love you. I want you to be a part of my life. Will you be my forever girl and will you marry me?”
An overwhelmed Ms. Lee was seen tearing up the proposal. This was even more special for her as she always wanted to get engaged in front of the Northern Lights.

Footage of the proposal has been viewed thousands of times on Twitter, with many congratulating the newly-wed couple and others applauding Mr. Ninan for withdrawing a surprise proposal.

The entire team at CBS San Francisco Bay Area was instrumental in withdrawing the offer. The meteorologist later said, “They called it ‘Operation Mary Mary!” said.
“It was so unexpected and I honestly didn’t know if it would ever happen,” she said. “It’s so crazy, because you were dropping all the signs and I didn’t fully understand. I didn’t see it coming from a mile away.”
