No casualties have been reported as a result of the incident.
Everyone can relate to those tense moments when a plane hits turbulence in the air. People bumping into seats in the aisles, alcohol spills and stomach drops. Some travelers even start chanting and praying for their safety. Rarely, it can also cause a bump or bruise. Turbulence during air travel is a major cause of flight anxiety for travelers around the world. In a similar incident in China, passengers screamed in panic when their flight suffered a major disturbance.
On 25 January, while flying at high altitude from Xian to Wenzhou, Air China flight CA8524 – an Airbus A320 – encountered strong wind. In the video, passengers can be heard shouting and almost being thrown from their seats. A few seconds later, one of the crew members is also seen sitting and holding on to the service trolley while some passengers remain seated silently. A passenger said he could see the wings vibrating as the plane climbed up and down in altitude.

The airline said that they have launched an investigation into the incident which revealed that the aircraft experienced “short-lived turbulence”. According to him, the flight crew handled the situation professionally and as per protocol, thereby averting any further mishaps.

Air China flight CA8524 successfully landed at Wenzhou Longwan Airport and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The company announced that it will maintain its goal of providing safe and efficient services to its passengers.
