Watch: Rafael Nadal beats Daniil Medvedev at Australian Open 2022, becomes first man to win 21 Grand Slam titles

Rafael Nadal returned to the ages by defeating Daniil Medvedev in a classic tennis game and won his historic 21st Grand Slam title, the most by any men’s singles player in history. Prior to the match, Nadal was tied with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the men’s singles all-time title list.

In 2012, Novak Djokovic defeated Nadal in five sets in 5 hours 53 minutes to finish 2-6, 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4, 7-5, the second longest Australian Open final. A win that began on Sunday night and was briefly delayed in the second set when a defender jumped onto the court, Nadal also became the fourth man in history to have won all four major titles in the game at least twice.
