In an emotional moment captured on camera, a mother who lost the ability to walk after suffering from ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) was able to dance with her son on his wedding day with the help of her brothers.

Zak Poirier and his mom Cathy Poirier went viral after son shared a video of the heartbreaking moment on Instagram. In the caption, Mr. Zak explained that his mother was diagnosed with ALS just before graduating from law school. Now, marking another major milestone in his life, the son made sure that his mother’s ALS was not going to affect his marriage.

“Despite not being able to stand on our own, my mother and I shared a dance at our wedding. She inspires me to be humble, kind and selfless every day,” Mr Zak wrote in the caption of the post.

Mr. Zak, with the help of his two brothers, helps his mother move her in the middle of the dance floor before lifting her directly into his arms. The pair slowly progressed over time to the tune of “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw.

The moment between the two was celebrated online as internet users expressed happiness over the video. One user wrote, “The way you look at her, talk to her and hold her in your arms is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.” Another said, “It just made me cry. Your mother is blessed to have sons like all of you and you all are very, very, very blessed to have such amazing, strong and beautiful mothers like her.”

according to this Fox News, Mr. Zak’s younger brothers Nick and Jake help their mother get a foothold and support her so that she can dance with their eldest son at their wedding. Speaking to media outlets, Mr. Zak said that he and his mother danced in front of a crowd of about 130 guests at the Ever After Farms Blueberry Wedding Barns. Florida,

“We had planned it. The actual dance itself was spontaneous,” said the 28-year-old. “We were both adamant that we wanted to share a dance, no matter how long. By the time we got there, we weren’t really sure how it would work – but it went perfectly, and it was great,” he said.

The mother, on the other hand, said that she felt honored that her son wanted to dance with her at their wedding, however, she also added that she was worried at the moment. “I was not nervous about dancing with my son. And I didn’t panic about my other two sons raising me or raising me. He didn’t bother me,” she added Fox NewsAdding, “It’s like this was such a milestone in my kids’ lives, and it wasn’t what I imagined.”

When mother and son finished their dance, they received a standing ovation from their guests. While talking to media outlets, the two said that they are happy that they went ahead with their dance plan instead of opting for slide shows or other options to change the wedding tradition.
