The ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’ actor, who is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, marks Kartik and Kiara’s second collaboration after their blockbuster hit horror comedy ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’.

Helmed by Sameer Widowans and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is all set to hit the theaters on June 29, 2023.

The film garnered controversy due to its title ‘Satyanarayana Ki Katha’, which translates to the story of Satyanarayana, another name for the Hindu god Vishnu.

Last year, director Sameer Vidwan released a statement to announce the change in title. The ‘Luka Chuppi’ actor also reposted the statement on his official Instagram account saying that the title will be changed to avoid hurting sentiments, even if it is completely unintentional.

The title of the film is something that emerges organically through the creative process. To avoid hurting sentiments, we have decided to change the title of our recently announced film ‘Satyanarayana Ki Katha’, even if it is completely unintentional. The film’s producers and creative team are also fully supporting this decision. We will be announcing a new title for our love story during our journey. Sincerely, Sameer Vidwan,” the statement read.

Apart from this, Karthik will be seen in ‘Shehzada’ opposite Kriti Sanon. Directed by David Dhawan’s son Rohit Dhawan, the film will release on February 10, 2023.

He will share screen space with Alaya F in ‘Freddie’. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the film is said to be a romantic thriller. He also has Hansal Mehta’s ‘Captain India’ in his bag. Directed by Ronnie Screwvala and Harman Baweja, the film revolves around India’s most successful rescue operations from a war-torn country. (ANI)
