A video of opener Shikhar Dhawan celebrating India’s victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup match is gaining momentum on social media. Dhawan, who last played T20 Internationals in July 2021, shared a video on Instagram in which he was seen doing the viral ‘smoky light’ trend in black kurta pajama and sunglasses with his friend Sagar Gaind.

Mr Dhawan wrote in the caption of the post, “When #India beats Pakistan in the #T20 World Cup #TeamIndia which garnered over 4 million views & over 633,000 likes within just one day.

The short clip shows Shikhar Dhawan and Sagar Gaind showing off their cool moves and joining billions of other fans in celebrating India’s thrilling win on Sunday.

Internet users flooded the comment section with heart and fire emoji. One user wrote, ‘I was waiting for this after victory. Another just wrote, “Wow”.

Meanwhile, returning to the match, India were in deep trouble after losing 4 wickets in just 6.1 overs, although the century partnership between Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya kept the team’s hopes alive. Kohli played an incredible innings of 82 runs and remained unbeaten till the end. The victory of Team India was sealed with the winning run of Ravichandran Ashwin on the last ball of the match.

After the win, speaking at a press conference, India captain Rohit Sharma lauded their bowlers, saying that the start of the match against Pakistan felt like a “Test match”.

“I really liked it. It felt really cool. We talked about a few things in our team meetings and things like that. We talked about how we wanted to use our big range And want to challenge the batsmen a little bit. You’ve got to understand at times what the pitch is doing. That back part of the length, a little back of the length, a little full, wasn’t easy to hit, And what happened in today’s game will tell you,” Rohit Sharma said.
