About Masala Bread Upma Recipe: How To Make Masala Bread Upma

material:

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp gota urad
  • 1 tbsp chana dal
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1 inch ginger – chopped
  • 2-3 fresh green or red chilies – chopped
  • 2 medium onions – chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes – chopped
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 1/2 tbsp curd
  • 3/4 cup water
  • salt to taste
  • 9-10 toasted bread slices – sliced
  • Fresh Coriander – roughly chopped

For Fried Nuts

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 10-12 cashew nuts
  • 2 tbsp peanuts

for garnish

  • Fried Cashews and Peanuts
  • fresh coriander leaves

method:

  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, gota urad, chana dal and let it crackle.
  • Now, add curry leaves, ginger, green or red chillies, onions and fry till translucent. Then add tomatoes and cook till soft.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, curd and sauté on a medium flame for a minute.
  • Now boil water, salt in it and then add roasted bread slices to it. Cover it with a lid and let it cook for half a minute then toss it well until everything is completely coated.
  • Finish it off with fresh coriander leaves and mix everything for one last time and serve hot on a serving plate and garnished with fried cashews and peanuts, fresh coriander leaves.
  • For the fried nuts: Heat ghee in a small pan, then add cashews and peanuts. Fry them till light golden. Then take it out and keep it aside for further use.
