“We Can Grow Together If…”: Tamil Nadu’s OPS Message To Party Members

Former Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam today hinted at a reunion with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) when he said the party can grow only when “we meet again”.

After paying floral tributes to former chief minister J Jayalalithaa at Jaya Memorial in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, ousted AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam said, “Only if we can meet again we can grow the party together.”

Jayalalithaa, the six-time Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, died on 5 December 2016 after undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chennai.

Last month, expelled AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam had said that AIADMK is an organization made by workers and it should work in unity.

He also refuted claims of BJP trying to keep AIADMK cadres divided and enter Tamil Nadu politics and said, “I do not believe BJP is planning to replace AIADMK by creating confusion in the party. No one can divide.” AIADMK and its cadre, and no one can jeopardize its unity.”

On Friday, the AIADMK observed a hunger strike in Coimbatore against the price hike, power tariff hike and property tax hike. AIADMK interim general secretary Edappadi Palaniswami took part in the protest.
