The Bharatiya Janata Party, though clearly disappointed with the result of the by-election, thinks that it has now emerged as the main alternative political force in Telangana to take on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the next assembly/general elections. And more joyful at this Congress party’s sitting seat on Sunday lost its seat and even bail.

Rajya Sabha MP K. Senior leaders, including Laxman and state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, told a joint press conference at the state party office that they respected the decision of Munugode people and TRS candidate K. Prabhakar Reddy on his victory.

“It is not such a big setback for us. Our party does not take pride in victory or despair when it loses. We will review our performance and check our weaknesses. Our candidate K. Rajagopal Reddy got a moral victory. , thereby ensuring that all ministers remain in the constituency during the election campaign. Our leaders and workers have done a good job despite misuse of government machinery and liberal inflow of money and liquor,” said Mr. Laxman.

The results had clearly shown that the BJP was the only force to counter the “family-corrupt rule” of the TRS and “we will continue our fight against the policies of this government,” he said.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar was more aggressive and asked the government to ask Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao during his election meeting, instead of “boasting” over the by-election victory.

“Since 2018, we have come a long way as there is a gap of 10,000 votes between us and TRS in Munugode. I am proud of the battle fought by Shri Rajagopal Reddy and our cadre. He is a hero for forcing and quitting by-elections for the development of his constituency. Will TRS get 12 turncoat MLAs of Congress to do this?

The Karimnagar MP ridiculed the TRS leaders, claiming that the party did not distribute money or liquor during the campaign and accused the TRS of spending around Rs 1,000 crore. He also criticized “some police and election officials” who had tried to “indirectly help the ruling party”, wondering why not a single seizure or case was registered against the TRS.

“Our party has made its presence felt everywhere. We will work for the poor, with more commitment for development and try to come to power in TS in the next election,” he vowed.
