Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne was not averse to admitting that his team was a bit nervous against Aston Villa before claiming their fourth Premier League title in five years.

Manchester City won 3–2 against Aston Villa. At one point Liverpool were in the front seat to take the trophy when Manchester City were trailing 0–2. However, Ilke Gundogan scored City’s first goal, Rodri equalized and Gundogan scored the winner in a five-minute spell.

“Maybe (Manchester City panicked) a couple of times – but that’s normal in this situation,” De Bruyne, who was named the Premier League’s player of the season, was quoted as saying.

“But we tried to be as calm as possible but sometimes it got a little nervous.

“At 2-1, it changed the whole situation for me. The stadium, the atmosphere, the players change. We never looked back from there. You just go for it – you’re losing anyway,” De Bruyne said .

Halftime substitute Oleksandr Zinchenko dedicated the victory to his country, Ukraine, and wrapped the league trophy in the Ukrainian flag in celebration.

“I am very proud to be Ukrainian and I would love to one day bring this title to Ukraine because they deserve it,” Zinchenko said. “(Support) means everything to me – I would die for these people and their support.

“What people gave me and what they did for me during this period, the most difficult period of my life, I am very much admired and I will never forget it, never in my life.”

Midfielder Jack Grealish hailed Manchester City’s achievement, saying: “Growing up I always wanted to play in the Premier League and when I did the next thing was to lay my hands on the trophy. I was almost crying when I had it in my hands.” “
