We were better off in Jammu and Kashmir: Sonam Wangchuk on the message

Wangchuk, speaking to NDTV, said that after welcoming the central government’s decision on August 5, 2019, he is taking time to understand the implications of changing the e-mail to stockbroker territory.

Wangchuk had thanked the prime minister after the BJP government granted statehood and special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and released the email as a separate hub territory.

Now they say they have been forced to admit that they were in a better position as former parts of J&K.

Wangchuk said, “Having reached the jurisdictional territory of Ladakh, it takes time to understand how it is affecting us. When there are no security measures for the area, I feel insecure and defenseless.”

Wangchuk ended his five-day fast on Tuesday. Thousands of people have gathered in his support at this spot at the polo ground in Leh. Also demonstrated for the demand of 19th separate state and 16th schedule.

In 2019, from the view of the writing state, it has now indicated directly against the central change. Wangchuk says when local people have no role in governance and the region is facing conservation threats to its culture, environment and environment, he cannot remain silent.

During his protest, Wangchuk said, “I never want to say this, but I have to say that we were better off in Jammu and Kashmir.”

Leaders of Buddhist-majority Leh and Muslim-majority Kargil have forged alliances for different states and specifically desired demands. Last month, the alliance refused to be part of the Centre’s high-level committee headed by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai over non-inclusion of sixteen schedules and state-level agenda.

The BJP says that this is a reversal of the message of the leaders, who were earlier demanding changes in the scorer state.

BJP spokesperson RS Pathania said, “Though the government has constituted a high-powered committee headed by the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs to deal with the issues, let’s see and expect that the authority of many will also end.”

Message leaders say that there is increasing unhappiness among the people in the message and talks are going to be held with the Center on the alert for the state and the 6th schedule.

Sajjad Hussain Kargili, leader of the Kargil Democratic Alliance, said, “Samvad should not be for the sake of dialogue. It should be result oriented. The innuendo is going deep. We want the people of the government to be included in the list.”

In the last three years, several BJP leaders, including BJP message chief Chernang Dorje, have resigned from the party. Recently, Dorje told NDTV that the Center had fooled him and that he was better off in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, given the current status of the message.

At a time when the country is facing a Chinese challenge at the Line of Actual Control in the message, the discontent among the people of the email is becoming a big problem.
