Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and son of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, former Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray has said that Balasaheb Thackeray is in the name given to his group by the Election Commission for next month’s bypolls in the state Will take Torch symbol given to each house by pole panel.

In an interview to the media, Aaditya Thackeray praised his father Uddhav Thackeray for his work as chief minister before stepping down after the split of the Shiv Sena.

“New symbol, new name ‘Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray)’ – We are extremely proud of Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray. He has worked as a Chief Minister, saved thousands of lives in Maharashtra. We have been a truly honest government. , working for the people,” said Aditya Thackeray.

“Everyone knows how he has worked. It also has the name of Hinduheart Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray. Most importantly, the torch is something that we will carry with pride in every home,” he said.

Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray faction released a poster on Twitter with the new election symbol and the name of the new party.

On Monday, the Election Commission of India named Uddhav’s faction “Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray)” and used the burning torch as a symbol for the November 3 elections in Andheri East.

The voting panel refused to give “Trishul”, “Rising Sun” and “Gada” as symbols because they “are not included in the list of free symbols”. It asked the Shinde faction of the Shiv Sena to submit a list of three new symbols by October 11 and declared the Thackeray faction as a “flaming torch” candidate for the ongoing bypoll pending final orders on the ongoing controversy.

The Election Commission had earlier on November 3 banned the use of ‘bow and arrow’ symbol for Shiv Sena by a group led by former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in the Andheri East by-election.
