Weather Update: IMD has predicted heavy rain in these states; Check Forecast Here

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extremely heavy rainfall over West and Central India from 7-9 August.

Presently, the southern state of Kerala is currently facing heavy rainfall. The IMD has predicted widespread rain in Kerala from August 4 to 8 and warned that the state may expect extremely heavy rainfall in its Ghat areas. More than 2,000 people are in relief camps across the state. So far six people have died in Kerala due to heavy rains.

Earlier, the IMD had predicted the continuation of intense rainfall activity over South Peninsula including Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka during the next 3 days and then subsidence.

It has predicted heavy downpours over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Rayalaseema on 6th August and heavy downpours over Telangana, Coastal and North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Kerala and Mahe during 6th August-9th August .

IMD has predicted very heavy rainfall today over Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka during August 05-08.

During August 5-9, heavy rain and thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat State, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Konkan and Goa.

Very heavy rainfall is also likely over Madhya Pradesh and Saurashtra and Kutch on August 8 and 9; in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh during 7-9 August; 5th, 8th and 9th in Gujarat region; During August 5-9, 2022 in Konkan and Goa and Ghat regions of Madhya Maharashtra.

Extremely heavy rainfall likely over Vidarbha and Gujarat region on 9th August; On 8 and 9 August in the Ghat areas of Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra.

Widespread to widespread rainfall with very likely to occur during August 5 to 9 over Jharkhand and Odisha and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on 6th August; Over Gangetic West Bengal on 9 August and Assam and Meghalaya during 6 and 7 August 2022.

Very heavy rainfall is also likely at isolated places over Odisha during August 7-9.

There is also a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over Odisha on August 8 and 9.

Widespread rainfall with the possibility of isolated heavy falls and thundershowers over Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand during August 5-7; in East Rajasthan during 5-9 August; In West Rajasthan on 8 and 9 August.

Very heavy rainfall is also likely over East Rajasthan during August 7-9.
