Weight Loss Diet: Weight Loss Friendly Indian Snacks (With Recipes) to Eat This Monsoon

Moong dal is rich in protein, which helps in boosting metabolism and reducing weight. It is a great alternative to potatoes for samosas.

Begin by preparing the dough for the samosas. Add salt and oil to the flour and knead it with water. Leave the dough to rest. Meanwhile, grind moong dal or lentils coarsely and prepare the filling. Heat 2 tbsp oil and add cumin and asafoetida. When hot, put the dal while stirring it with a spoon and fry it and at the end add all the spices. Keep the mixture aside to cool down.

To make samosas, first make smooth balls of the dough. Roll it in circular motion with your hands and make small flat 4-inch discs. Cut into 2 halves. Take one half, wet the edges, stick it to the corners in a cone shape. Fill the cone with filling and stick both the corners with water and press gently.
