West Bengal: In a shocking incident, at least five children were injured after some miscreants hurled country-made bombs at them in South 24 Parganas district. According to reports, the incident took place in Narendrapur area on Friday.

While talking to the media, Baruipur SP Pushpa said that all the children are safe. He further said that the police have also arrested 4 accused involved in the case and further investigation is on.

The children were reportedly playing in a field when they saw some bombs lying in a corner of the ground. Some miscreants were present on the spot and tried to intimidate the children. When the children refused to listen, the miscreants threw two explosives at them.

As a result, all the five children suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. It should be mentioned here that two such cases have been reported in the state within a week.

Earlier on Wednesday 26 October, a boy was killed and another was injured in Kankinara area of ​​North 24 Parganas. He allegedly mistook a bomb for a ball while playing in a field.
